More Clouds; Rain Ahead
Skies become cloudy this evening, and some light rain develops tonight. Light rain lasts into early Thursday. A front from the northwest moves through early Thursday and stalls near the coast Friday. Clouds will be stubborn and a few flurries are possible Thursday afternoon and Thursday night. A disturbance forms in the Gulf and moves along the stalled front--too far south for a big event here, but we will get a glancing blow of mostly light snow Friday. Expectations should be less than 3" and probably less than 2" favoring the eastern escarpment over the west. Drier but seasonably cold weather comes Saturday through most of Tuesday.

Tuesday - Increasing clouds; Flurries or light snow possible Tue. night; High near zero; Low near zero
High pressure has shifted into the Atlantic. This shift, with an approaching front brought a milder southwesterly flow into the region that also produced some of the warmest temperatures of the week in spite of generally cloudy skies.
Some light rain arrives tonight and lasts into early Thursday morning. Temperatures fall behind the front and a few flurries are possible Thursday afternoon and Thursday night. Skies remain stubbornly cloudy.
A disturbance moves northeast along the stalled front just off the Atlantic Coast. We get a glancing blow of moisture Friday--generally light snow, mostly in the afternoon and evening, and less than 3". While much of the mystery on track and timing has been removed, a small change could modify our snow accumulations slightly up or down. Expect a very cold Friday.
A few flurries may linger into early Saturday but decreasing clouds and cold temperatures remain with us next week (but not brutally cold). A dry front moves through from the north Monday. Another front arrives from the northwest late Tuesday with light snow or flurries possible.
