Unseasonably pleasant weather lingers into Friday, but clouds increase Friday afternoon with stray sprinkles or drizzle possible near the Blue Ridge. Forecast Discussion

Cool high pressure remains centered off the Mid-Atlantic Coast while moisture out of the Southeast overruns the cool wedge resulting in lingering clouds a perhaps a stray shower through the early evening. Areas of fog are possible with steady temperatures overnight.

Thursday begins with clouds and areas of fog, but we quickly break into partial sunshine and soaring temperatures as the center of high pressure shifts south producing a warm southerly flow.

Warm weather continues Friday with increasing PM clouds in an increasingly moist southerly flow. Spotty light rain or drizzle is possible in the afternoon along the Blue Ridge.

A front passes through from the west Saturday with morning rain. Cloudiness decreases Saturday afternoon and Saturday night. Temperatures remain unseasonably pleasant into Sunday.

Saturday's front returns from the south as a warm front Sunday night. Clouds return late Sunday, and rain develops Sunday night from south to north. Areas of light rain remain possible through the daytime Monday.

A second front passes through from the west Monday night. Temperatures are chilly Tuesday and somewhat colder Tuesday night on gusty winds. A few snow flurries are possible Tuesday night. Chilly weather remains for the next couple days as high pressure moves from eastward from the center of the country.
