Forecast Discussion

Clear skies and cold temperatures are on tap for the overnight with high pressure firmly in control of our weather.

This was the last arctic blast for the foreseeable future as the global pattern producing a cross-polar flow into the Central and Eastern U. S. finally relents. High pressure shifts east into the Atlantic by this weekend. We'll be in a much milder flow. Clear skies and cold ground will produce significant temperature inversions each night (valleys much colder than mountaintops tonight through Saturday night). Skies will be generally clear through Sunday.

The next front arrives Monday night. Clouds increase Monday with showers developing in the afternoon and rain Monday night.

Behind the front, temperatures are somewhat colder but not extreme. We'll call it seasonal Tuesday and Wednesday. A few flurries are possible early Tuesday morning as the front exits east.
