.Low level moisture will gradually return to the area tonight as
Arctic high pressure slides offshore. This should lead to
development of light precipitation across northwest North Carolina
after midnight, with the rain or drizzle spreading north into
portions of southern Virginia by daybreak Wednesday. Given
lingering very dry/cold air in place and frozen ground surfaces,
much of the precipitation will fall as freezing rain or freezing
drizzle. This likely to cause glazing of surfaces including
roadways before the morning commute on Wednesday.

hundredths of an inch resulting in a light glaze expected.
