Forecast Discussion

We remain in a tug of war between colder air to the north and a Bermuda High to our southeast. Being in the middle of competing pulls and pushes, expect clouds and areas of fog with stray light showers possible, especially late Saturday night and early Sunday. Today through Sunday, the warmer Bermuda High gradually takes a decisive edge on temperatures.

However, a front from the northwest moves through Monday with the next more pronounced period of rain--late Sunday night and Monday morning. After that, cooler air takes the tug of war win, for three days (Monday through Wednesday). Partial clearing commences Monday afternoon leading to a mostly clear and cooler Tuesday.

But no weather lasts long in this fast moving pattern. The next low from the Western Gulf moves across the Southeast Wednesday. Clouds return Tuesday night and rain is expected late Tuesday night until early afternoon Wednesday. Temperatures remain cool through Wednesday. Precipitation could begin as a wintry mix late Tuesday night.

Timing and track becoming more difficult with the low that follows. I took the more optimistic route Thursday and Friday--a dry and milder Thursday, then more clouds Friday with a low suppressed to our south Friday; however, other opinions for a wetter Friday hold merit. We'll have more confidence on Friday one way or another in a couple days. Regardless, colder weather is expected next weekend.
