Gradually Less Gray
Tuesday's wedge of cool air is eroding gradually. Clouds, cool, fog, and stray showers will hold this morning right along the Blue Ridge. Areas on the west side of the Appalachians will have some sun this morning, but the Blue Ridge waits until the afternoon. Widely scattered showers & t-showers develop this afternoon and early evening. Thursday now looks like the driest day of this forecast set--only isolated mostly afternoon showers and t-showers. It's tough to distinguish one day from another meteorologically beginning Friday; expect lots of clouds and daily doses of scattered afternoon/evening showers & t-storms.

The front that moved through early this week is pressing south to South Georgia today and Thursday. The cool, moist wedge that developed down the Appalachians is eroding today. Friday into early next week, the stalled front edges back to the north, closer to us.
Today, the west side of the Appalachians will be brighter than the east side (near the Blue Ridge). Expect clouds with areas of fog and spotty light rain or drizzle this morning near the Blue Ridge. With modest daytime heating, widely scattered showers and thundershowers develop this afternoon.
Thursday appears to have more sun and less coverage of mostly afternoon showers and thundershowers of any day in this forecast period.
As the front edges north Friday (and another front stalls in the Ohio Valley this weekend), humidity increases. We'll be stuck in this pattern for several days. A little sun each day will go a long way in sparking scattered, ostly afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Showers and storm may last longer into the nighttime Monday night. There will be extended breaks in the rain, especially in the mornings, but outdoor activities will have to keep an eye to the sky each day.
