Forecast Discussion

March Madness is well-timed in NW NC. Today will be a great day to watch Basketball.

As a potent low moves up the New England Coast, a cold front sweeps through our area from the northwest. Expect a windy day with chilly temperatures and decreasing clouds.

Cool high pressure controls our weather Saturday and Sunday with gradually moderating temperatures.

The next front arrives Monday and low pressure moves west to east across the Southeast. Clouds increase late Sunday with spotty light rain possible Sunday night. Expect rain Monday, especially in the afternoon and overnight. As the low slowly exits the Georgia Coast, Tuesday looks cloudy and considerably cooler. Spotty light rain (maybe even a few snowflakes) is possible Tuesday.

The rest of this forecast is dry with ample sunshine as the next area of high pressure lumbers across the Eastern U. S. Temperatures warm in step-wise fashion Wednesday and Thursday.
