Forecast Discussion
In the big picture this weekend, low pressure is moving slowly northeast through New England into the Canadian Maritimes. Cool high pressure controls our weather; however a warm front will form tonight stretching from north Georgia to the Northern Plains. That warm front will slowly move north early next week and be to our north Tuesday. A Bermuda High setup takes hold for the rest of next week.
Expect a seasonably cool weekend with some clouds thickening this afternoon and tonight. While it will not be a widespread problem, isolated frost is possible tonight in deeper valleys. Sunday will be partly to mostly cloudy. Monday will be mostly cloudy. Sunday will be a couple degrees warmer than Saturday. A brief shower cannot be completely ruled out Sunday, and isolated showers/thundershowers will be around Memorial Day with temperatures a step warmer.
Memorial Day is the traditional beginning of the summer season and the weather will respond appropriately. Tuesday through Friday will be more like summer--gradually warmer with isolated afternoon showers or thundershowers in the region each day (least likely Friday).
