Mow Today

We'll try to keep it upbeat and optimistic for the next week as we can certainly use the rain that is coming, but it will get old. If you have any essential outdoor chores then today is your day. A very unsettled weather pattern develops Saturday and persists through this seven-day forecast. There are some salvageable hours over the weekend, mainly in the morning like usual and in between showers. Having a "Plan B" is a smart move.

Forecast Discussion

The weather pattern beginning Saturday through most of next week is dominated by a sprawling upper level disturbance that dips into the Ohio Valley and southern Appalachians. This feature gets sandwiched between an upper ridge of high pressure over the American Southwest and the Bermuda High in the Atlantic. Copious amounts of moisture are drawn northward from the Gulf and Atlantic resulting in plenty of rain. It will take a "kicker" front to escort this feature out and that won't occur until next weekend.

If we're being cute, Monday through Wednesday look to be the wettest days. At this point that could be splitting hairs, but that's our thinking for now. Rainfall totals over the next seven days will likely be in the 3"-5" range with isolated higher amounts.

In terms of the weekend it's not a complete washout, but it kicks off tonight with a few nocturnal showers and storms. Just have a back-up plan and keep a watchful eye to the sky for the potential of some stronger storms late tomorrow afternoon.
